Budda Belly

Our baby girl is growing so fast!! Here are what her stats were as of last Friday...

Weight: 21lbs 9oz (just under the 90th percentile)

Height: 29in (again, just under the 90th percentile)

Head Circumference: 19in (90th percentile)

She is now wearing 12-18 month onesies and tops and 18-24 month pants. They're pretty long on her, but apparently all her weight has settled in that cute round tummy of hers! Gotta love a baby Budda belly! All of her 18 month pants are getting snug on her middle but are still too long. She isn't a big fan of adult food yet, but she eats baby food like a champ! She goes through 2-4 Gerber 2nd foods every meal along with her rice or oatmeal! She finally started crawling last week, but hasn't been too interested in exploring the apartment yet. She is also working on pulling herself up. Anyways, here are some pictures for ya'll!!

Update on my mom... For those of you who didn't hear, my mom is in the hospital. She's going to be 100% fine!! She went in on Saturday with what turned out to be a blood clot in her leg. She had a procedure done to remove it and is on medication to thin out her blood a bit. We're not sure when she gets to go home because she just has to wait until the tests they're doing on her blood levels come back normal and stay normal. She is doing better each day and I know she would appreciate any prayers or happy thoughts that could be sent her way!

She speaks!

Loralye has started speaking English! She has been fluent in gibberish for many months now and yesterday she not only spoke her first word, she spoke her first three words!! Just like every other tricked she's learned, she said each word a few times and hasn't said them much since so I don't have it on video or anything yet, but I'm trying! She said Hi! Yum! and Yay! yesterday. She said Hi! as she was looking out the office windows and waving her arms at an airplane, Yum! when I was giving her yogurt melts after lunch, and Yay! when I was clapping! I'm a proud momma :)

Middle of the night antics...

Let me start by thanking everyone for the warm thoughts that were sent my way the other day. I was feeling down and you all were so kind!

I just have a funny little story today... A couple of nights ago Loralye woke up around 4am to eat. I went into her room, fed her, and put her back in her crib. Once in her crib she rolled onto her tummy and tucked her legs up underneath herself and pushed up with her hands and started rocking. This is a normal thing for her to do when she's playing on the floor, but she was doing it in her sleep! I watched her rock for a minute and then she pushed up really high and pushed herself right into the sitting position! She doesn't even do that when she's awake! She started to wobble as soon as she was up so I grabbed her and snuggled her in my arms for a bit before laying her back down again. It just cracked me up that she hasn't sat up on her own while she's playing on the floor, but she did it in her sleep in her crib! I guess she's taking after me... I talked and walked in my sleep a lot as a child. It'll be fun to see if this continues!

I probably shouldn't be blogging today. I try to only blog when I'm in a happy mood so that my blogs are happy, but alas, today has been one of those "I want to be a stay at home mom so badly that I would give up just about everything in my life to do so" days. I don't have these days too often, thank heaven, but when I do they make me feel very sad and lonely and insignificant. I know that I am beyond lucky that I don't have to send my daughter to day care to be watched by someone else all day and to have the father-in-law that I have who has allowed me to bring Loralye and all of her baby stuff (there's a ton of it!) to his office every day, but some days I just have a hard time counting my blessings. I feel like I could be a much, much better employee if I wasn't a full time mommy and I feel like I could be a much, much better mommy if I wasn't a full time employee. I know that there are probably a few people who will read this and think that I need to stop complaining and look at the glass half full, and they are right. I have so much goodness in my life, but as it gets closer and closer to Loralye's first birthday and I am not any closer at all to being a stay at home mom than I was when I first found out I was pregnant, it makes me want to something drastic like sell my car and Aaron's bike and move into a cardboard box so that we could afford for me to stay at home in said box with my sweet baby girl. Ugh. Life will get better though. I know it. I just need to survive the storms and wait for the sunny skies. Thank goodness for my husband and daughter who bring rays of sunshine into my life every day.
