Last Ultrasound.

We had our last ultrasound last night and little girl is a chunker!! She's about 8lbs 3oz right now and I still have not dilated much! The ultrasound measurements for weight can be off by as much as half a pound, but that's still a whole lot of baby! We didn't do the 3D ultrasound this last time... The doctor and nurse aren't so interested in getting you a really good picture when it's your 4th ultrasound and the baby's almost here. We did get a little alien shot of her face though. Her eyes look all slanty because her massive cheeks are all squished. She is out of room! Can you see her face? Her little chin is pointed to the left of the picture and her eyes are those two oval shaped black spaces. Freaky, but still kinda cute =)

And I had to toss this picture in too. When we were in Clovis for Thanksgiving, we took family pictures for the Christmas letter my mom sends out every year and I finally got some of the pictures when my family was here for Christmas. This one's my favorite.

Well, Aaron's on call until Friday morning, so no fun plans for New Year's Eve for us (just grocery shopping!), but I hope you all have a fun night!

Christmas!

Christmas was perfect this year! Being almost 37 weeks along, I was not allowed to travel all the way to Clovis, so all of my family came to me! My dad rented a vacation house just a couple minutes from our apartment and they stayed from Monday until Saturday! It was so fun! On Monday we went shopping at the outlets, Tuesday we got a Christmas tree, and on Wednesday, Aaron's family (minus a sister and brother in law who had to stay in Utah for work) came to the vacation house and we all had Christmas Eve dinner together! The food was perfect and the company was wonderful. It was so nice that both Aaron and I got to spend the holiday with our families. On Christmas morning Aaron and I went out to his parent's house early to have Christmas with the little girls. It was so fun seeing their faces when they came down the stairs and saw their air hockey table. They have been wanting one for weeks! Then around 10 we headed back to my family and opened presents with them and had our traditional Christmas breakfast (Leftover Christmas ham in scrambled eggs! Yum!). Aaron found me the PERFECT Christmas present this year without any help... a video camera! I have been wanting one since I found out I was pregnant and I am beyond happy to have one now! It was the best surprise! My gift to him wasn't a surprise (he picked it out himself), but he loved his new riding clothes anyways. I think the best gift I got him though was a little remote control helicopter. He has not stopped playing with it since he first charged it on Christmas morning. I had no idea he would love it so much! Anyways, that afternoon we went to Red Rock to see a movie and I decided that we're never doing that again. It was so darn crowded in there! A few years ago my family and some friends went and saw the new Peter Pan on Christmas day and it really wasn't crowded at all, but I guess that's just the difference between a Fresno theatre and a Vegas casino. It was insane. On Friday we went to the outlets again to buy Aaron's little sister's birthday present (there are awesome deals the day after Christmas!!) and then my Aunt Leanne and her kids came down from St. George to spend the rest of the day with us. Unfortunately my pregnant body made me nap twice that afternoon, but it was still fun to play games and visit with my relatives that I hadn't seen in months! So all in all, it was a wonderful Christmas week! I loved the time with my family and it wasn't super hard to part with them like it usually is because I know that they'll be back in the next couple weeks when the baby decides to show up =)

Tomorrow I have my 37 week check up (Can you believe it? Only 20 more days until my due date!!) and my last ultrasound so hopefully I'll have some good news and fun pictures to share after that. Love ya'll!! Hope you all had a very happy Christmas!

36 Weeks.

I had my 36 week check up yesterday... I have not dilated at all!! I'm so mad. I know I shouldn't have, but I was keeping my fingers crossed that she would show up a couple weeks early and now this! My doctor did tell me that she has had patients who have come in for a check up, not been dilated at all, and then go into labor the next day, so I guess I can still hope a little. But my official prediction for baby's birth day is January 23rd. That is the due date I calculated when we first found out we were pregnant. I'm hoping I'm wrong since she will probably be over 9 pounds by then, but I'll just have to wait and see what baby girl wants to do. I have my last ultrasound on the 30th, so I'll have new pictures up after that.

Merry Christmas Eve to you all!!
Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!

Let It Snow!

The snow actually stuck!! I heard the weather forecast for snow and I figured it would be a lot like Fresno snow... little flurries that melted two seconds after touch down, but no!! We have snow! I didn't see it in our part of town, but when we drove out west to Summerlin to go grocery shopping last night, there was snow everywhere! The farther west we drove, the more snow we saw. It made my day!

Here's the view from the car at the Costco gas station... Yes, these were all taken with my phone, so the quality is awful.

Every tree in the parking lot looked like this!

And any car that happened to be parked on this side of town ended up looking like this.
Yay for snow and yay for Christmas coming so soon! Every night this week is packed and then my family will be coming on Sunday and staying for almost a week! And then the baby's coming (hopefully sooner than later)!! I'm so excited!!

I feel like I'm myspacing again...

All of these tags remind me of myspace, but I love them, so here's another! Plus it's a Christmas tag, so it's extra special! Everyone ready for Christmas?! Only two more weeks!! I just ordered the honey baked ham for Christmas Eve this afternoon! Yippee for 9 pounds of ham!!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper!! I LOVE wrapping presents!!
2. Real tree or artificial? Real or nothing! Half the fun of a Christmas tree is that wonderful pine smell!
3. When do you put up the tree? We're not Christmas tree-ers yet, but once we have the space for one I will be buying it Thanksgiving weekend!
4. When do you take the tree down? Sometime during the first week of January.
5. Favorite gift received as a child? Probably my baby doll Molly. She became Jesus in our nativities =)
6. Hardest person to buy for? My dad! If he wants something, he'll buy it in 24 hours.
7. Easiest person to buy for? Aaron. It's hard not to come up with a million good ideas when you live with the person!
8. Do you have a nativity scene? Not yet. Maybe by next Christmas.
9. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? My dad's mom gave all the grandkids Christmas jammies ever year, but one year she got a little confused or something and I ended up with pant legs that ended mid calf. I was not a happy kid.
10. Favorite Christmas movie? I know they play it WAY too much on tv in December, but A Christmas Story is my absolute favorite!
11. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually in December, but this year I started way back in October and after Friday night, I'll be done!
12. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? The whole Christmas Eve dinner in my family is pretty much perfect.
13. Lights on the tree? Yes in deed!! I only like white lights though. Those colorful flashing ones give me a headache!
14. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph! Right?
15. Open presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning!! Although we've always had one present to open on Christmas Eve. Usually it's jammies... this year we're doing an ornament exchange! Yay!
16. Most annoying thing about this time of year? The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is far too short!! I need more days to listen to Christmas music and enjoy Christmas decorations!
17. Favorite ornament? The little gold pram from my very first Christmas.
18. Favorite Christmas drink? Sparkling Cider!!!
19. What do you want for Christmas this year? I haven't really asked for anything in particular... I think a baby coming on the 26th would be a very nice gift though!
20. What is something you have never done that you want to do for Christmas? Be in Hawaii for Christmas day! I love a white Christmas, but I think a sunny, sandy one would be even better =)

I TAG: Anyone who's in a festive mood like me!!

Contractions!

I had my 34 week check up yesterday and while I was there my doctor asked me if I had been having contractions. I told her I didn't think so because at my last appointment the nurse told me that braxton hicks contractions were so painful that they would take my breath away. But when I laid down to have the baby's heart rate checked, the doctor felt me have a contraction! I've heard that they are quite painful for a lot of women, but I'm happy to not be one of them! Instead of a lot of pain I can just feel my tummy squeeze in a little and it feels rock hard for a bit (I just thought that the baby had learned a new trick!). Yay for no pain!! I figure that with all the awful side effects I've had since getting pregnant, I deserve to have something be easier for me for once!
I can't believe I'm in the home stretch here. It seems like just yesterday that I was impatiently waiting for that second line to appear on the test, and now I'm about to be a mommy! I'm so excited!!

Happy Holidays!

Well Thanksgiving in Clovis was perfect! Aaron and I got in around 10:30 on Wednesday night and were up bright and early the next morning to take family pictures (only to have pictures postponed until 1pm due to weather)! Thanksgiving in my family is usually quite the grand affair with lots of family, but this year it was just our immediate family, my cousin Dylan (who lives with my parents), and the sister missionaries. It was so cozy and so fun! We spent the morning cooking and the afternoon playing pinochle. We were in bed by midnight only to have the alarm go off at 3:30am to go shopping! It was a nightmare!! Aaron ended up being to tired, so just my mom, Nikki, and I went. We got to Kohl's around 4:05am and the entire parking lot was full already! I had no idea it would be so crazy! By the time we got into the store at 4:08, there was a line going half way around the store! We did a little browsing (no, we didn't have a plan as to what exactly we wanted!) and were in line within 10 or 15 minutes. I was the only one who found something and after standing in line for about 5 minutes I decided it wasn't worth the hour long wait to save five bucks, so I put my stuff down and we were back home and in bed by 5:30. I will never try that again unless I have a plan! I've decided that you need to be there probably half an hour to an hour early, you need to have one person just to stand in line, you need to have a detailed list of what exactly you're shopping for, and you need to be familiar with the store. We had none of that going for us, so my first Black Friday shopping experience was a complete disaster! But I had fun being out with my mom and soon to be sister even though it was 4am. The day got better though... the whole family went bowling and out to Me-n-Eds that night and I bowled four strikes in a row for the first time ever! I had never even bowled a turkey before! But Aaron still beat me... he had 180 to my 177! Stinker. Anyways, Saturday was lovely! My baby shower was that morning and all the guys were kicked out of the house and went and saw the new 007 movie. My shower was perfect! The food was delish and it was so nice to just sit and relax and visit with the people I haven't seen in ages. Bunny is going to be the best dressed baby in town with the most adorable hand made blankets! My Jae and her hubby Jeremy stayed after the shower for a while and visited which was so fun! I have missed her =) And they both got to feel baby girl kicking which was extra fun! Saturday night we visited Phil and Juli for a little while and got to see their house (I'm so jealous!!!). Then on Sunday morning we headed back home and even got to stop off in Bakersfield to see Rick and Heather for a couple hours! All in all the weekend was wonderful!
Now the countdown to Christmas begins... only 3 weeks left! And I only have to buy a gift for Shane and a gift for Philip and I'm done!! I even have all my in-laws gifts wrapped and ready to go! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our little apartment =) Since I'll be almost 37 weeks at Christmas and can't travel, my family is coming to Vegas the Sunday night before Christmas and is staying until Saturday! I'm so excited! They've rented a vacation house near our apartment so we'll get to stay the night with them on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday! Yay for a fun fun Christmas!! Oh, and sorry about the lack of pictures. I didn't take a single one with my camera this past weekend, so all the pictures are on my parents cameras and I'm guessing I won't have them until after Christmas! Sorry!
xoxo
