Almost April

Is this a shock to anyone else? 2009 is a fourth of the way done and I have enjoyed every minute of it!! My little snuggler at 10 weeks old...

Happy Anniversary #2

So Aaron and I were going to go out to dinner for our anniversary, but as I was sitting at work I got a better idea... My two year contract on my phone just came up, so it's time for me to get a new phone! Aaron has been dying for a Blackberry and Verizon has a buy one get one free deal for them right now (well, almost free... you have to pay the tax on the second one). So after work we went to the Verizon store instead of out to dinner and got ourselves matching Blackberry Storms. I'm in love =)

Happy Anniversary!

It has been two incredible years since my hubby and I tied the knot! I can hardly believe it. The details of that day are still so perfectly vivid in my mind that if feels as if it were only a day ago. Every day I fall in love with him a little more. He is my Prince Charming, my heart's perfect match. The moment he stepped into my life he made it better in every way. He is the most amazing husband and father and I am so lucky to be his eternal companion!!

2 Month Appointment

This past Friday afternoon Aaron and I took Loralye in for her 2 month checkup. It was Aaron's first time going to one of Loralye's appointments and it probably wasn't a good one to start with. She needed vaccinations and got three shots in her poor little thighs and an oral vaccine as well. She was not happy about any of it! Then to top it all off neither my doctor, nor the nurse giving the shots warned me about the side effects. I should have asked questions, but I just thought it would be like the last vaccine she got where we were just careful with the injection site for a few days. Oh no! By about 8pm Loralye was crying so much that she wouldn't eat at all and her thigh where she got two of her three shots was swollen and red. I would have normally called my mom to see what I should do, but she was on a cruise with my dad so I just called the doctor's office. The on call doctor first told me to just give her some baby Tylenol and put a warm compress on her leg. But then she asked me if the injection site was warm to the touch. It was and she told me to go the the Emergency Room! Oh my goodness! I was already in tears before that but that news totally freaked me out! So off to the ER we went! After many many prayers in the car that Loralye would sleep until we got her some help, we arrived at the hospital and she did indeed lightly sleep until we saw a nurse. Sadly we didn't get to see the nurse for over an hour and every time Loralye moved in her sleep her whole face scrunched up in pain and she would wail until I could get her to sleep again. And to top it all off, all the nurse did was put a thermometer up her poor little bum (she was not happy about that!!) and then tell us we would have to wait a long while before getting any kind of treatment from the doctor! At this point I'm tired, scared, and completely shaken up so I tell Aaron to go outside and call someone to come help him give Loralye a blessing. While he's outside he gets the good idea to call his mom (why didn't we think of that sooner?!?!) and she tells him that everything that Loralye's going through is normal and we just need to give her some baby Tylenol and put something cool on her leg. So we tell the nurses we're leaving, stop off at Walgreens for some medicine, and head home. Within an hour she was medicated, fed, and asleep until the next morning. Wendy saved our night! And saved Loralye from several hours of pain that she would have endured if we had stayed at the ER. I'm so mad at my doctor and nurse for not warning me about what to expect! New mom's should not have to deal with that!! Ugh. Thank heaven Miss L was about 99% better by the next morning! Poor little dear. We did find out that she is still in the 90th percentile for both height and weight - 23 3/4in and 12lb 5oz. Grow little girl, grow! Well, here's a picture from last Thursday... 9 weeks old!

Love ya'll! Oh... 7 more days until our 2 year anniversary!! Yay!!! =)

St. George Arrivals!

My Aunt Leanne and her girls came to town from St. George last night for a quick visit. I always LOVE seeing them! The boys opted to stay home since the promise of getting to hold a baby wasn't overly alluring to them! Plus Aaron was tied up all evening with church activities, so it turned into a very fun girls night! Here are a few pictures...

I love that you can see to the back of Allie's throat! Clockwise from the left... my cousins Allie, Hannah, Amy, and their friend Karlee.

Everyone took turns holding Loralye... With Amy (I think L was saying a little prayer).

With Hannah. The flash was extra bright for some reason!

With Allie... Yes she is saluting me!

With Karlee. It was her first time holding a baby and she did so well!

Allie and Karlee with their Build-A-Bear animals.

This was just too funny to not put on here!
Her chins are so chunky that the strap wouldn't fit!
Isn't she getting so long?!

2 Months Old

I can't believe my little baby turned 2 months old yesterday! She is changing so much everyday and it has been so fun to watch her develop her cute little personality. Some of my favorite funny little things about her are: she snores, she hates having clothes taken off or put on, she loves watching the bears in her mobile spin, she tries so hard to laugh, she'll sleep up to 7 hours at night if shes cuddled with up with me, she screams bloody murder when she has to be burped during feedings, she loves to be snuggled, she lifts her leg to toot (so unlady like!), shes recently discovered her tongue, she loves being outside, she is a binkie fanatic, and she loves smiling at Aaron and I. I was planning on taking a picture in the same place at every month mark, but I totally spaced it in February. So here is her two month picture and hopefully I won't forget after this!

In her St. Patty's Day dress this morning. Gotta sport some green!

I love this picture! If I were to envision a Leprechaun baby, this is totally what I'd see! Sweet little thing =)

Sick Visit.

Yesterday we had our first trip to the doctor for a "sick visit." Loralye wasn't sick but because it isn't one of her scheduled well visits, I got to pay for a $50 sick visit. The corner of her little finger nail got infected (My fault... I didn't clip her nail all the way to the edge and a little sliver grew up into her skin! Ouch!) so I took her in to have it checked out. It was by far the worst doctor's visit!! Loralye needed to eat shortly after we got into the little room, but the doctor kept coming in and making me stop feeding her which led to several short crying session and then one really long loud one at the end because she was so fed up with the stopping and starting! Thank heaven her finger isn't hurting her. I was just given instructions to soak it in warm water a couple times a day and apply antibiotic cream. Easy fix. One fun thing from the visit... I got to have her weighed... 12 pounds even! She's growing a steady 1/2 pound a week. She's going to be too heavy for me to carry all day pretty soon! Scary! Anyways, here are some pictures from yesterday and today at work.

She is a baby of many faces! I love it! And we love all of you! Happy Wednesday!

New Pictures.

Time for an update! I thought that I would have more time to blog once I got back to work, but almost every second of my day is spent taking care of Loralye or working! Gone are my work days where I had 1 hour of work to do during the 8 hours I was at work! I love it! My day goes by so much quicker now! Loralye is growing fast and will be 2 months old on Monday! Here are some pictures from yesterday...

She is not a big fan of the camera. She gets very serious when it's in her face.

I just love this little face she makes!!

Happy little girl! She is such a sweet little angel! I don't know how we ever managed without her =)

Also, thank you to all of the sweet comments you have all left over the past couple months! I don't have the time to respond to each one, but I love you all and I am so happy you all get to share in our lives! Have a happy, happy Tuesday!

Success!!

So my first day back to work was the exact opposite of what I thought it would be! No melt downs at all! Woo!! I only have 20 minutes left until I go home, but I thought I'd share some pictures and info with you all... Loralye is growing fast! At her one month check up she measured 22 3/4 inches long and 10 1/2 pounds (90th percentile for both!). She is so much more alert than she was even just a week ago. She has recently discovered the toys that hang from her bouncy seat and she loves them! She also has started to really smile in the last week or two. She still has her gassy smiles, but we can coax genuine smiles out of her too! She is still an awful nighttime sleeper, so mom is still sleeping on the couch with her, but we're working on it. She just hates her bassinet! But she loves to sleep in the Pack'n'Play at work, so maybe she just needs more space. We're going to try her in her crib tonight! Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Playing on her monkey blanket...
Bath Time!!

Falling asleep on mom's lap...

Here are some of my favorite pictures off of my camera phone. Crappy quality, I know, but I love these pictures!!

Snuggles with mom.

Scrunchy face at the hospital.

Not happy.

Early morning with momma.

I was watching tv one morning, looked down, and she was doing this with her fingers... Just a little bit =)

The face she gave me after I cleaned up a massive diaper mess. I think it's her "I pooped." face.

Little sleep smile.

Her burpie face.

Big girl smile.
